H型鋼屬于經(jīng)濟裁面型材(其它還有冷彎薄壁型鋼、壓型鋼板等)，由于截面形狀合理，它們能使鋼材更高地發(fā)揮效能，提高承裁能力。

型材是鐵或鋼以及具有一定強度和韌性的材料通過軋制、擠出、鑄造等工藝制成的具有一定幾何形狀的物體。復雜斷面型材又稱為異型斷面型材，其特征是橫斷面具有明顯凸凹分支。這類材料具有的外觀尺寸一定，斷面呈一定形狀，具有一定的力學物理性能。型材既能單獨使用也能進一步加工成其他制造品，常用于建筑結構與制造安裝。型材的材質、規(guī)格尺寸等可參照相應的國家標準。軋機結構和軋機布置形式較多。在結構形式上有二輥式軋機、三輥式軋機、孔型軋機、多輥孔型軋機、Y型軋機、45°軋機和懸臂式軋機等。

有的膠合板是將兩個不同紋路的單板貼在一起制成的，所以在選擇上要注意夾板拼縫處應嚴密，沒有高低不平現(xiàn)象。挑選膠合板時，應注意挑選不散膠的膠合板。如果手敲膠合板各部位時，聲音發(fā)脆，則證明質量良好，若聲音發(fā)悶，則表示膠合板已出現(xiàn)散膠現(xiàn)象。
